Safety Services

Safety is taken seriously in the offshore oil and gas sector - and Dan Marine contributes actively to achievement of high safety standards. For the last 7 years Dan Marine's fully-owned subsidiary company, Danish Shipmanagement Group AS, has been under continuous contract with Maersk Oil and Gas AS, which operates 5 platform supply vessels out of Esbjerg, servicing a number of offshore oil and gas fields in the Danish and British sectors of the North Sea.

At the base port facility in Esbjerg, Danish Shipmanagement Group surveyors undertake spot check safety inspections of containerized and break-bulk cargo loaded to and from the platform supply vessels. The purpose is to ensure compliance with the safety standards laid down in the applicable Offshore Safety Procedures. The objective is to minimise incidents where the condition of the cargo constitutes a potential risk to stevedores during loading and discharging, and to ship's crews during cargo transfer operations offshore.

All work is undertaken in compliance with quality assurance procedures contained in a Safety Manual, approved by Maersk Oil and Gas AS, and documented through safety inspection reports supported by photographs.

In 2002 Danish Shipmanagement Group was contracted by Maersk Oil Qatar AS to undertake a safety inspection campaign at the Doha offshore base in Qatar. The purpose of the 6 weeks campaign was to survey all Vendor owned equipment and to determine whether the equipment complied with the relevant Offshore Safety Procedures.
Line Handling Services

In 2002 Danish Shipmanagement Group's engagement with Maersk Oil and Gas AS was expanded to include line handling services to the platform supply vessels operating in and out of the Port of Esbjerg. The company's line handlers receive, fasten and let go mooring lines whenever Maersk operated supply vessels arrive or depart from port, and when they shift from one quay to another within the port. The line handling services are performed day and night, 7 days a week, as required.
